I have a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Liberal Arts in English Literature from Henderson State University. While getting my master's degree for the last 3 years, I was a tutor at the Writing Center. While we mainly dealt with English students, I also had the opportunity to tutor nursing students, education students, and psychology students. During my 3 years of graduate school, I also received the opportunity to teach a Basic English class to incoming freshmen students for a semester alongside my tutoring duties. I have a keen eye for detail, a necessary skill for someone involved in writing and editing. I communicate well, not just in person but also over email and other forms of online communication. Though tutoring sessions were generally one-on-one with students, I am used to working in a team environment, as almost all of my classes involved open class discussions with my peers. I am very good at giving constructive criticism; I understand the importance of being positive rather than negative when giving feedback, if feedback is wanted. Most of all, I'm very thorough in my work (another essential skill in writing and editing).
