Resource Officer
CurrentI am currently on a 12 month Secondment working as a Resource Officer within the Eastbourne and South Wealden Neighbourhood Support Team - Duty Team. I work with Adults who have care and support needs, creating networks of communication to assess need and eligibility for our service.I visit Adults in the community and create support plans and assessments to promote independence while having care and support needs met safely, but with a holistic approach.I communicate sensitively to identify vulnerabilities, any communication difficulties, as well as positive and negative emotional triggers for the Adult, in a non-judgemental manner, and to those around them. In my job role, I demonstrate daily how I work confidently and respectfully with Adult’s who have permanent and temporary disabilities, sensory impairments, learning disabilities and mental health needs. I’m aware how valuable it is to joint work with carers, families, agencies, health professionals and services to support Adults to works towards their goals and wishes where possible. A continuous factor throughout my current and previous job roles is my passion for working closely with the public, making me a friendly, approachable person who is eager to reach outcomes that positively support the Adults I work with. This makes me particularly interested in adopting a strengths based approach throughout my work in the team.I have sound knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act and other vital legislation.
