Bureau of Habitat - Principle duties include regulatory compliance evaluation pursuant to NY Environmental Law Protection of Waters, Freshwater Wetland, and Water Quality Certification (ECL Articles 15&24). I independently conducted routine and regular inspections of permitted sites and facilities for compliance, and compliance inspections of directed remedial restoration actions and plans mandated as a part of civil resolution of ECL violations. I assisted biologists and Conservation Police Officers with the preparation of remedial restorations plans and consent orders. I provided written wetland and stream regulatory jurisdictional determinations in response to inquiries from the public.Bureau of Wildlife- Worked as the Turkey Trapping Technician. Scouting for turkeys throughout the region. Communicated with the general public, with an emphasis on interested landowners who were willing to allow us to use property for study. Baited sites that were suitable and safe to later set and deploy rocket nets. Banded all hen turkeys captured. Deployed radio backpacks. Collected and recorded biological data. Aged deer, as well as collected samples for CWD. Assisted wildlife biologists with black bear den visits, including the immobilization, tagging, retrieving DNA samples. Bureau of Fisheries- Worked in cooperation with the Eastern Brook Trout Joint Venture project. Backpack electrofished small streams to determine the status of brook trout. Assisted crews with Finger Lakes, biomonitoring. Set and deployed various sampling gear throughout the Finger Lakes, such as gill nets, and fyke nets. Navigated through the use of GIS programs and quad maps. Collected fin samples for future genetic studies as well as taking scales for age determination. Analyzed data, completed and error checked biological survey reports. Assisted in stream shocking using float boat shocking equipment, identified and measured fish, and measured stream widths and discharge.

Worked in the Canyon Backcountry office assisting visitors with planning overnight backcountry trips, park orientation and assisted with choosing suitable hiking trails related to visitor preference. Provided visitors with information regarding backcountry travel, regulations and park wide safety. Issued fishing, boating and backcountry camping permits. Performed backcountry trail patrols and trail clearing/maintenance operations. Assisted front country park rangers with emergency transports and traffic control during wildlife jams.
