As an Associate Scientist, I primarily performed testing using the Hemagglutination Immuno Assay (HAI), a method for measuring the neutralizing capacity of antibodies in patient serum against influenza viruses. I was trained on 2-Day and Sanofi 3-Day testing procedures (production and validations) as well as Cypherone. Through this role, I expanded my expertise in laboratory safety, infection control procedures, hazardous chemical handling, and more.I contributed to improving and optimizing production workflows and turnaround times and assisted with revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and checklists to enhance assay performance. Additionally, I gained experience in molecular, ligand binding, ELISA, and cell assays.Site Lead for My Green Lab Projects:- As the Site Lead for My Green Lab projects, I focused on improving environmental, health, and safety standards at the site. I led and trained six teams, totaling up to 30 people, to monitor the site’s energy consumption, establish and assign sitewide projects, and ensure lab sustainability. My efforts culminated in the Durham site achieving My Green Lab Certification, a goal that had been pursued globally for two years.QC Reviewer:- In my role as a QC Reviewer, I ensured that operators adhered to SOPs, used correct reagents, and followed revisions of paperwork by performing independent QC reviews across various assays.EHS Representative:- As the EHS Representative for the HAI team, I leveraged my experience as the lead of My Green Lab to ensure that best practices were followed, ensuring safety, eco-friendliness, and efficiency in all processes.

In this position, I performed polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based genetic testing at high complexity in accordance with standard operating procedures for diagnosing and treating various genetic conditions. I fulfilled laboratory performance standards for The College of American Pathologists (CAP), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), and New York State certifications.I gained experience with various laboratory instruments and methods, including PCR, liquid handling and automation machines, and Luminex Xmap technology. I also assisted in assay development and aided in the transfer of platforms from Luminex to Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS). Additionally, I have hands-on experience with fluorescence and electrophoretic assays.
