Founded in 1902, Barton College is a four-year, private institution of higher learning located in Wilson, N.C. Barton celebrates bold thinking among faculty and staff while nurturing bold leadership development among students. Barton provides a challenging academic environment with a range of professional and liberal arts programs leading to the baccalaureate and master's degree. Barton is segmented into 4 academic schools: Arts & Humanities, Business & Innovation, Education & Social Sciences, and Health Sciences. Barton offers 60 academic programs, 36 graduate and undergraduate degrees, and six professional and licensure programs. Graduate programs include the Master of Business Administration in Strategic Leadership, Master of Education in Elementary Education, Master of School Administration, and Master of Science in Nursing degrees. The foundation of the Barton Experience is the promise to provide tools and support to maximize students’ potential in the classroom and beyond. With a focus on academic excellence, professors introduce subjects with fresh perspectives and captivate students’ interest through integrated hands-on opportunities that merge learning with doing. The Barton Experience offers purposeful internships/practicums in academic disciplines, meaningful international travel/study, student/faculty research and presentation through the Day of Scholarship, opportunities to give back to community through the Day of Service, participation in Barton’s distinguished Whitehurst Family Honors Program, an array of cultural events, and diverse athletic competition with 21 NCAA DII teams.
