Accepted into a highly selective AmeriCorps program to dedicate one year of service to an underfunded elementary school of over 1,200 students, focused on increasing student attendance, promoting socioemotional development, and improving academic course performance. Responsibilities: • Developed individualized small group Math and English interventions centered on evidence-based research, resulting in an average 132-point increase in English and a 84 point increase in Math• Communicated and collaborated with key stakeholders, including parents, partner teachers, and school administrators to further drive student success • Organized and implemented school-wide events, such as “Fun Fridays,” to offer a break from academics and improve relationships between students and corps member• Collaborated with the Data Analytics Department to improve the implementation of academic and socioemotional interventions by analyzing student data

Assisted on a sociology graduate student’s project about the intersectionality of food insecurity, gender, housing status, and disability in Yolo County Responsibilities: • Provided transcription for 10+ hours of participant interviews and coded the subsequent qualitative interview transcripts for further analysis• Corresponded with the 4 other undergraduate assistants to analyze and code the week’s transcribed material, and presented our findings to the principal researcher in our weekly meetings
