I am a highly motivated accounting student, and will be graduating in December 2024 with a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Accounting. I have previous experience in healthcare and customer service. My long term goal is to become a CPA. Over the past 4 years, I have improved my communication skills and have learned the core elements of business and accounting. I have also had significant practice in programs which include:• MS Excel• MS Access• MS Word• MS PowerpointThe reason I have chosen this path is because I love working with numbers and enjoy the puzzle. With the use of computer programs, I can create, customize and organize large amounts of information. The business portion of my degree appeals to my desire to work with people and to look for solutions. I have developed an interest in every aspect of business and love opportunities to expand my knowledge. Outside of my professional skills and goals, I love any opportunity to be creative. Home renovations interests me the most. When I was younger I loved to sketch and do anything where I could be artistic. I even dreamed of becoming an architect. These projects fulfill my need for creativity.I enjoy working for companies that encourage growth and success in their employees. I want to be a part of a strong team, where I can provide value to the organization. I can work independently or on teams. I have experience with both. I am excited to continue my journey and discover new opportunities. You can reach me on LinkedIn or by sending an email to:agarlick@umich.edu

Rural CarrierUnited States Postal Service Oct 2014 - Oct 2020Bellaire, Michigan, United StatesWhen I was a rural carrier, customer service was priority. This position requires perseverance and effort until you develop a system that works for you. This means trying out different ways to sort or organize mail and packages in the most efficient way. Throughout my employment I needed to adjust this method to keep up with changes in the business. Along with developing the most efficient methods in the office, I had to develop an efficient system in my vehicle for delivering my route. I organized my car so I could reach 4 to 5 piles with ease. Each pile or section was different. They separately held all of my flats, letters, small packages or EDDM alone. I memorized which addresses had any of these deliveries for the day, so I would not waste time having to look at each stop. I memorized over 400 addresses that my route served, which helped me organize large packages in delivery sequence at the rear end of my car. Aside from managing the system I used, I also had to navigate my vehicle through my route even in the worst winter conditions. Each day I worked independently while using skills of multitasking, memorizing and organizing to efficiently deliver my route. -
Certified Nursing AssistantMunson Healthcare Jan 2012 - Sep 2012Traverse City, Michigan, United StatesI worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Munson Home Health. Prior to this, I had experience in patient care as a CNA. In this position I assisted a range of clients with many different tasks. From providing transportation to helping with personal care. The age of the clients I assisted ranged from children to elderly adults. Sometimes I would work as little as 4 hours in a day or longer 12 to 13 hour days. It could be a single 12 hour shift with one client. Or it could be multiple assignments that were combined back to back in a day. Each day was different. With such variety, an employee must be flexible and capable of interacting with so many different personalities. Important qualities include being compassionate, having patience and having communication skills. Each day required excellent customer service.
