Campbell River emergency does not have the support of a RT, so part of my role is to assist the emergency room physician with acute respiratory management, such as BIPAP and intubation. Additionally, I am responsible for mechanical ventilation management, and the assistance with insertion and management of central lines. Campbell River emergency receives many patients with multi-system trauma due to its location within the northern portion of the island, as well as industrial traumas as a result of the forestry and fishing industries north of the city.
