I am currently doing a residency through NSUOCO focusing on ocular disease and surgical co-management with BVA and nJoy Vision. I manage patients who are referred into the clinic from primary eye care providers. I am learning to practice to the full scope of my license in Oklahoma including lasers and minor surgical procedures.

I provide primary care eye exams to Alaskan Natives and Norton Sound residents, as well as management of ocular disease and contact lens exams. I also travel to surrounding villages to provide eye care to those who do not have the ability to travel to Nome.

Class of 2016

-Taught current 2nd year optometry students procedures including refraction, binocular vision testing, high plus, gonioscopy, and binocular indirect ophthalmoscopy-Was an available and accessible resource for students to ask questions-Worked with professors and gained an enhanced understanding of the procedures that we commonly perform in a clinical setting

During my time as President-Elect and President of the Student Optometric Association at PUCO, I oversaw the meetings of student government and meetings with the Deans of the College of Optometry with other club leaders. I provided support to our entertainment representatives in planning events and worked with our treasurer to ensure we stayed within our budget during school wide events. Additionally, I attended Optometry's Meeting and attended the House of Representative meetings in order to stay up to date on current events within the profession.

I performed primary care exams with an emphasis on diagnosing and managing ocular disease for our veterans in the central Oregon area.

I perform and observe comprehensive annual vision exams, sensory motor exams, contact lens evaluations and vision therapy for vision related learning disabilities and traumatic brain injuries in children and adults.

Performing and observe annual eye exams, pre- and post-op refractive surgery, cataracts, clear lens exchange, Visian ICL.

-Helped patients with frame selection-Learned the basics of insurance billing, specifically CareOregon-Learned how to work with the frame representatives and lens labs
