As Director of the Polish Women's Hall of Fame, I developed nomination guidelines and procedures to launch the project as a virtual exhibit. I process submitted nomination forms and prepare packets including biographical summaries of each nominee for distribution to the selection committee. I respond to inquiries from the public regarding the Hall of Fame and the nomination/selection process.In my capacity as a research assistant, I regularly use U.S. Census and other data to aid in the preparation of demographic reports and community assessments, as well as any other tasks necessary to assist the organization's president in the preparation of articles, lectures, and other materials on historical and other topics. I also help prepare grant proposals for the full range of the organization's projects and activities.In addition, I assist in outreach efforts and event planning for the Piast Institute's involvement in the Hamtramck Drug Free Community Coalition, and prepare monthly meeting minutes.

As a cultural resource management intern, I worked under the supervision of the park historian on a wide range of projects and activities. Throughout the internship, I frequently accompanied park staff on a range of site visits intended to assess the impact of planned projects on historic buildings and landscapes within the park and monitor their progress, I researched and produced a report documenting the history and existing conditions of a 1930s U.S. Coast Guard station located in the park, aided in the maintenance of park museum collections, and documented damage to windows in a historic house.In addition, I researched and wrote text for a temporary exhibit on 18th and 19th century transportation on Cape Cod and produced draft text for interpretive wayside markers. I also researched and responded to requests for information on objects in the park's museum from visitors, and accompanied the park historian on interpretive programs.

The first portion of this internship was spent at Bagala Window Works in Westbrook, Maine, where I learned hands-on window restoration techniques and participated fully in a range of shop projects as a window restoration technician. The second portion of this internship was spent at Maine Preservation's office in Yarmouth. I accompanied the field services advisor on site visits to advise property owners on appropriate treatment for historic buildings and assisted in the preparation of reports following these visits. In addition, I updated lists of historic preservation tax credit projects throughout Maine, assisted in preparations for the annual Maine Preservation Honor Awards, and worked on various projects related to the organization's preservation easement real estate program.

Graduate assistant in the historic preservation program. I performed general office duties, answered questions from prospective students and others interested in the program, and represented the program at graduate admissions fairs and preservation conferences. I assisted in the maintenance of program records and a small lending library, and updated informational materials and bulletin boards related to the program. I performed research tasks for the program and its faculty, including the documentation of a collection of historic lightbulbs, archival research on the stained glass windows of a local church, and transcription of historic documents.
