As a manager in this position my responsibilities includes: - Monitor sales and inventory levels of selected SKUs updating forecasts. - Review sales forecasts; compare to results and update as appropriate. - Place stocking orders, re-orders and special orders with specific vendors as well as prepare and dispatch purchase orders. - Confer with vendor contacts to obtain favorable and timely deliveries as well as the best possible pricing. - Update computer with timely and valid information when necessary. - Periodically meet with and exchange information with the merchandisers sharing the same vendor responsibilities. - Respond to the various departments within the organization who may need information regarding vendors, products, deliveries, etc. - Check all invoice discrepancies involving vendors in your area of responsibility. Correct and approve and return to accounting in a timely manner. - Assist with resolving vendor disputes.
