I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a BS is Biological Sciences from the Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology department. I believe that with my laboratory experience in both management and experimentation, my collaborative and teamworking skills, and my detail-oriented nature and time management ability, I have the necessary qualifications and enthusiasm to be a great asset to any team. Through my work as a research assistant in a lab at UCSB, I have gained experience with following and creating lab protocols, managing reagent stocks, glassware cleaning protocols, and many aspects of lab management. This, in combination with my experience in classroom lab environments with human cell line culture, sterile technique, and antibody assays, means that I have experience and skill working in wet labs. My time in a registered campus organization as an event coordinator also gives me relevant experience in following protocols, maintaining documentation, and presenting information to a wide audience, preparing me to perfectly fit into any established workflow and culture. Through my research with Dr. Julie Simpson in the Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology department, I have established cohesive skills to successfully collaborate on projects through independent, remote settings. This research involved collaborating with team members to review traced neurons, working through difficult issues, and assigning new tasks. Since the transition to in-person learning, I have also gotten the opportunity to work collaboratively in person through my experiences as an assistant researcher and through volunteering in both the UCSB Greenhouse and the CCBER Greenhouse.While aspects of the project were collaborative with Dr. Simpson, much of the project was completed in a self-directed manner, independently completing tracing and review projects between meetings. This lab work, in addition to my tutoring business, volunteering with CCBER, and engaging in demanding academic coursework, has made me excellent at completing tasks on my own in a timely manner, as well as making me very detail-oriented so as not to miss any assignments or deadlines.Given these qualifications, I would be a great fit for any position and a positive asset for any workplace.
