I worked in China for six months as a temporary teacher in a two and three year old classroom of Chinese children. I had the incredible privilege of immersing them in the English Language as well as integrating Western culture into my lessons. I learned how to teach without a curriculum and my teaching was striped down to the basics in order to communicate with non-English speaking children. I enjoyed being introduced to Chinese traditions and loved being immersed in it's rich culture.

I helped take care of children transitioning from a hospital to home placement. As well as attending to daily medical needs, I taught the children who were not well enough to attend school in a home-based setting. Both the care and education of these children stretched me to think outside-of-the-box to accommodate their needs.
