I work for the athletic department assisting student-athletes with their classwork: grasping concepts and completing assignments. I also help provide general guidance on organization and time management skills.

Selected as one of 350 interns out of 13,000 applicants for this very prestigious role, I also gained a TS/SCI security clearance after passing a rigorous security screening process. Throughout the summer and into the school year, I had the honor and privilege to work in the Bureau and help progress the mission: to protect the American people and uphold the Constitution of the United States of America.

This year, I led our organization as the first-ever Vice President of Special Events. This brand-new sector was created to prioritize event planning and expand our event presence in the community and on UA's campus. I planned and executed all fundraising and outreach events, both small and large-scale events, for UA Miracle throughout the year. I continued the organization of previous events such as Rockin’ at Red Shed, Cups for Kids, and percentage events while also created new events such as Miracles on the Green Golf Tournament and Miracle Ball, a formal charity gala. I collaborated with other members of the executive board to accomplish our yearlong fundraising and recruitment goals as well as external community partners, university officials, and other student leaders. UA Miracle's mission is to raise funds and awareness for Children's of Alabama, the only free-standing Children's Miracle Network Hospital in the state. Our program year culminates in a 12-hour dance marathon where our fundraising efforts are recognized by fellow students as well as community and university leaders.

I planned percentage events with local restaurants and companies to raise money and awareness for our organization. I also planned and executed off-campus events, such as Rockin' at Red Shed Battle of the Bands, in cooperation with fellow directors to ensure our best work was being done. I organized and led a staff of fellow students, motivating them to do their best work for the cause while delegating work for them to grow and learn in their positions.

I planned content across several social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. I coordinated with creative and media production directors to ensure content follows the set timeline and can be posted to the proper platform. I wrote creative captions and brainstormed new and exciting social media campaigns that fit our year-long campaign strategy.

I serve in an executive board position for an organization within the University of Alabama Center for Service and Leadership and assist other teams with their missions, such as Beat Auburn Beat Hunger and Big Days of Service. Overall, we assist in advocating for members of the University to serve the community of Tuscaloosa, Alabama throughout the school year.

I worked with writers to ensure content was written well and followed Associated Press Style guidelines as well as the CW house style guide. I reviewed all articles before giving them to the Chief Copy Editor for final approval before being ready for publication. I served on a team of editors who work to produce the University of Alabama’s school newspaper which posts daily on our online platform as well as with special print editions.

I served on the SOURCE Board of Governors with fellow student leaders to collaborate on the needs of student organizations and host new organization awareness programming. I also served on the SGA Financial Affairs Committee with fellow SOURCE and SGA members, where SGA allocates over $150,000 each academic year to registered student organizations for programming and professional development. I also assisted in the approval process and provisional period for new student organizations as well as created and implemented training workshops and materials.
