About Ashley Meadows

With over 10 years of experience in museum education, I create engaging, inclusive, and accessible learning opportunities for diverse audiences. As the Lead Programmer at Planet Word, a new and innovative museum that celebrates language, I strategize and execute a forward-looking programming plan that aligns with the museum's mission and vision. I collaborate across teams and with external partners to bring fun, rigorous, and audience-centered programs to life, both in person and virtually. In my current role, I leverage my skills in education, art, art history, and technology to design and deliver creative and interactive programs that explore the power and beauty of language. Previously, I served as the inaugural Director of Education and Visitor Experience at the Smithsonian Arts + Industries Building, where I built education programs and the visitor experience strategy for FUTURES, the Smithsonian's first museum-wide exploration of the future.
