Presently seeking an internship or full-time position within Public Health. I am currently working on a Masters Degree from Northern Illinois University with a focus on Public Health- Health Promotion. I have a Bachelors degree from Iowa State University in Animal Science. I have 30+ hours of course work in biology, chemistry, math, and physics. I am interested in epidemiology, health promotion, and food safety. I am currently an Environmental Health Specialist with Lee County Health Department located in Dixon, Illinois. I have experience with establishment inspections, sanitary evaluations of septic and well, and West Nile surveillance, I created health promotion material for Lee County residents. I have taken the Lead Assessor and Lead Risk Assessor course and will take the third party exam in June. In addition, I have experience as an Environmental Health Intern at Ogle County Health Department located in Oregon, Illinois. With the internship, I learned the food code, restaurant inspections, septic and well inspections, and COVID 19 response.
