Serve as announcer, newscaster, and engineer for local broadcast of NPR's “Morning Edition.” Prepare information on weather and timely news stories and deliver eight local newscasts each morning, with breaking news updates as needed. Serve as director, engineer, and co-host for WYPR’s weekday news magazine “Maryland Morning.” Run the board for live segments of the program and produce the final mixes of all segments. Conduct interviews and produce stories for the program, with a general focus on science, nature, technology, and history (including a story that won 3rd place recognition from the Maryland Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists).Post all news headlines and relevant links at wypr.org; update wypr.org homepage in event of breaking news or weather emergencies; update wypr’s Facebook page with news headlines, local news stories, and other relevant information.Record and produce breaks for five hours of daily automated programming.Work with WYPR’s Underwriting Department to provide audience analysis to our clients, using Arbitron’s PPM Analysis Tool. Work with WYPR’s Membership and Department on all on-air aspects of membership campaigns.
