The CNI Climate Action Fellow works on projects related to helping UCI achieve climate neutrality, as outline in the UC Sustainable Practices Policy. Assisted with UCI’s 2021 GHG emissions reporting process. This included data aggregation for emission sources (natural gas therms, electricity kWh, commuting miles, etc.), calculating GHG emissions from source usages, and reporting to entities such as The Climate Registry and Second Nature. Created a 40 page GHG Emissions Reporting Manual to assist with future reporting. Improved campus sustainability communication with sustainability highlight infographics for the UCI Sustainability website and a 3 minute highlight reel for UCI’s 2021 AASHE STARS platinum rating. Executed a gap analysis on categories of the 2021 AASHE STARS report to share with campus stakeholders.

Oversaw all chapter operations of a chapter with 100+ members. Supervised and delegated responsibilities to 14 executive members.Served as a spokesperson and representative to University staff and Alpha Chi Omega Headquarters.

As Vice president of Recruitment, I supervised and conducted several recruitment events throughout the year. Our two week long primary recruitment event was reconstructed to be fully virtual due to the pandemic. We were still able to recruit 40 women from a pool of over 300 candidates. VP Recruitment is also in charge of training the whole chapter of more than 100 women on the recruitment process.

Conducted mathematical research with fellow students in the Research in Industrial Projects for Students (RIPS) program with industry sponsor, Aquatic Capital Management, on predictive models for intraday stock returns. Specific research topics included: handling large data (800+ GB); constructing a regression tree model; unsupervised learning of non-linear relations among the features and the target, and efficient computation of a rolling regression tree.
