Support the Army Field Support Brigade (AFSB) and subordinate units with information management, help desk, and computer technician support. Provide SIPRNET trusted agent support for 402nd AFSB users. Assist in obtaining, issuing, and troubleshooting CAC PKI tokens. Implement the life cycle replacement of IT equipment by setting-up new IT equipment and turning in the old out-of-date IT equipment. IT Specialists provide direct support and interface between the Command Staff at their location and the Brigade S6 and provide support to the Brigade Headquarters and other AMC supported personnel at various locations in Kuwait. Install and troubleshoot the following software: the most current versions of the Windows desktop operating system and Microsoft Server Operating System, Adobe Core Programs, Enterprise Anti-Virus products, Winzip, ActiveClient, PureEdge, Retina, Fedlog, Citrix, Java, current DOD approved disc wiping tools, power DVD and download drivers. Installation/troubleshooting/moving client machine drivers, user profile moves, user computer moves, data backup, data restore, and connectivity to each supported network.

Install software applications such as Office 2003 Professional suite, Symantec security client, SMS client, Tumbleweed, Pure Edge, Active client, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. Build images for baseline systems. Perform data recovery on failed hard drives using various hardware and software tools. Create new computer accounts in Active Directory, create DHCP reservations.

Responsible for all aspects of the operation and maintenance of the Help Desk. Conduct troubleshooting procedures with the customer either when present or over the telephone. Perform fault isolation and diagnostic functions necessary to determine corrective action to restore normal operation of the users computers. Add users to the network, create user accounts and reset passwords.
