Human Capital Consultant
I provided support to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (ODEIA) as they implemented initiatives in support of Executive Order 14035: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) in the Federal Workforce. In this role, I planned and produced monthly webinars and office hours for the government-wide DEIA Learning Community. More than 400 Federal employees attended these events, which addressed topics ranging from federal internships to the newly released "Guidance Regarding Gender Identity and Inclusion in the Federal Workforce." I also contributed to the planning and production of the second annual, government-wide Employee Resource Group Summit in May 2023. Over 600 Federal employees attended the virtual event. My responsibilities included designing the event and registration website, training internal and external parties, and partnering with the platform team to produce the event.
Technical Recruiter
I supported full lifecycle recruitment for Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) Engineering positions. Leveraging recruitment platforms like Workday, Handshake, and Boolean searches, I sourced qualified candidates and identified prospective talent through networking and referrals. By developing strong relationships with business executives and HR partners, I gained a deep understanding of talent requirements and assisted with contingency planning to address staffing challenges. Throughout the process, I ensured compliance with established recruiting procedures and service-level agreements, contributing to the overall success of SI&T's hiring efforts.
Technical Recruiter
I drove the recruiting process for software engineer and technical program manager candidates (levels 59-61) from offer to acceptance for markets in Redmond, Dallas, Atlanta, and Vancouver. I managed the candidate referral process, developed and negotiated external candidate offers, and advocated for both the candidate and the business client throughout the recruiting process. I influenced hiring managers to move forward with talented candidates who demonstrated the skills to succeed. Additionally, I contributed to the development of templates, training materials, and standard operating procedures for the broader One Engineer Events (OneE2) team, and onboarded and mentored new Recruiters for their first 3 months.
Student Staff Recruitment Lead
I spearheaded the development of a talent pool by generating and maintaining relationships with strategic on-campus stakeholders. Collaborating with a 3-person team, I designed and implemented a screening rubric to identify top candidates for interviews. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, I successfully redesigned the 2-day on-site interview weekend into a 1-day virtual event, coordinating and providing support for 400+ candidates and 13 hiring teams. I developed and distributed a candidate selection plan to ensure a smooth team placement day, co-led the placement process, and assisted with conflict de-escalation among hiring teams. Leveraging Qualtrics, I evaluated the recruiting experience for candidates and hiring teams to guide future recruitment strategies. Additionally, I planned and facilitated the new hire field day to welcome team members, review onboarding processes, and highlight departmental expectations.
Professional Staff Learning And Development Lead
I led a team of 6 in researching and benchmarking best practices for staff and team development. I designed and implemented a comprehensive multi-track learning and development curriculum for a department of 45 professionals, which included planning and facilitating a 2-week training plan and a 3-month onboarding track for new professional staff. Utilizing Qualtrics and Microsoft Forms, I measured the effectiveness of staff learning and development sessions, leveraging data to identify skill gaps and build over 50 development sessions. Additionally, I used data from the quarterly staff survey to implement targeted team development activities, ensuring continuous growth and improvement within the department.
Coordinator
I oversaw a 335-bed residential facility for first and second-year university students. I managed the facility's budget, staffing, and social and personal development programs, while also onboarding, training, and supervising a team of 25 client-facing paraprofessionals. Through the implementation of staff appreciation events and research-supported community initiatives, I increased workplace satisfaction from 69% to 90% and created a safe residential experience for clients. I designed standard operating procedures, facilitated monthly learning and development sessions based on assessed skill gaps, and managed crises and emergencies as part of an on-call rotation for 2,900 residential clients across campus. Additionally, I allocated and managed the yearly event budget.
Professional Staff Recruitment Lead
I developed and implemented comprehensive recruitment strategies to fill all entry-level and mid-level vacancies within the department. Sourcing and engaging with both passive and active talent through various channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, alumni networking platforms, international job fairs, and professional organizations, I ensured a diverse candidate pool. To enhance the hiring process, I piloted and launched a skill-based rubric for resume screening and restructured the on-site interview to focus on unique candidate motivators. I managed all aspects of interview logistics, including scheduling, transportation, socials, and travel reimbursement. Additionally, I facilitated department-wide training on topics such as effective interview skills and navigating implicit bias in hiring. By analyzing the hiring process yearly and presenting data to leadership, I guided the evolution of the candidate experience, ensuring continuous improvement.
Graduate Assistant Recruitment Coordinator
I coordinated the 2-day on-site interview schedule for candidates, including managing travel arrangements, leadership team interviews, stakeholder meetings, meals, candidate socials, and reimbursement. Collaborating with the 11-person hiring team, I redesigned interview questions for all stages of the process. Utilizing a standard skills-based rubric, I screened and interviewed over 300 candidates annually. To expand our candidate pool, I sourced and engaged with passive talent via social media platforms LinkedIn and Facebook, and international professional organizations, such as the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators. Additionally, I represented the department at the national graduate assistant job fair (Oshkosh Placement Exchange) in Spring 2016, completing more than 75 first and second-round interviews across 3 days.
