As a designer at La-Z-Boy, I work to create interior spaces for clients that are more efficient and aesthetically pleasing. Our process begins with finding the needs of our clients, and discussing how they want their space to be used. From there, we measure out the space and utilize Sketchup to create their room in 3-D. This step includes modeling furniture, picking out color schemes and textures, and making sure that the design styles flow together. This ultimately follows a design presentation with the client to sell our designs for their space. In addition to this, I also work as a retail sales associate to sell La-Z-Boy's products.

When I was employed as a construction worker, I worked on projects that varied from finish work to the early foundation stages of the build. I gained various skills that helped me to excel in my degree such as, custom fabrication techniques, craftsmanship skills, a better understanding on how to read blueprints, and communication skills with other employees and clients.
