One-year appointment at the Berea College Forestry Outreach Center, geared toward capacity building, to work towards alleviating poverty in America. Focus areas: Environmental education and capacity building-Organizing volunteers for the Forestry Outreach Center-Develop curriculum, courses, and lesson plans for Environmental Education to be utilized by the FOC -Interview FOC staff and review FOC program materials to develop a sense of the types of educational programming desired-Research best practice standards in Environmental Education and the Next Generation Science StandardsDevelop activities to meet the needs of a variety of visitors to the FOC, including different ages of school groups(K-college), outdoor groups, after school clubs, etc.-Create implementation plans to put curricula into practice and train FOCstaff on how to effectively deliver them-Design instruments to evaluate FOC effectiveness.-Developing outreach strategies and partnerships-Develop effective website -Develop communications outreach strategy (i.e. newsletter, social media, etc.-Develop partnerships with educational institutions in the Berea College service region-Create school contact lists-Track which methods of outreach are most and least effective-Create method for tracking data on school visits-Develop and implement evaluation tools to assess school visits.-Develop a system for collecting visitor information-Produce reports on visitor data-Develop schedule and format for reporting progress toward goals with college and VISTA supervisor -Create system for communication-Develop systems to promote the sustainable operation of the FOC-Develop student labor manual for students who work at the FOC -Create system for maintaining, managing and updating volunteer databases-Produce quality reports that can be used on social media, as well as compiled for federal reporting requirements which demonstrate the anti-poverty and capacity building work being accomplished

-Managed projects in the Sociology Department at Berea College-Created and managed the Sociology Club-Managed recruitment from Berea for the Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty Internship Program-Managed Facebook page-Organized of the Sociology Lab, among regular office duties such as tidiness, filing, printing, scanning, document creation-Research up to date statistics as needed per professors

Basic position included Residential Adviser duties in the Hall as well as being a part of the leadership team and acting much like a Building Manager for facilitation and facilities purposes.

Basic job includes the regular duties of a Residential Adviser, but also serves as part of the leadership team for the Hall. Supervises the Hall's RA Team, approves hours, manages meetings, acts as ambassador for hall, and is connection to the Hall Collegium.
