As a Guest Services Supervisor at ZooTampa at Lowry Park, I am responsible for supervising a team of 20-30 Guest Service Representatives while ensuring that front gate operations run smoothly. Functions of this role include ensuring that all front gate positions are covered, resolving guest complaints or concerns, interviewing and overseeing the training of new employees, and motivating my team to increase and maintain a high level of membership and encounter sales.

In these positions, I practiced proper cash-handling techniques and had a large amount of contact with aquarium guests solving problems and answering various questions. In my time at the Aquarium, I was promoted from a seasonal play area attendant to a full-time Guest Service Associate performing all training for new department employees.

With ACCESS Destination Services, I worked with the Sales, Product Development, and Operations team to learn about and assist with the process of planning programs in the Orlando area. I spent much of my time working in Microsoft office to develop proposals while other time was spent on-site learning what goes into making sure events take place without problem.

In this position, I am responsible for the care and management of up to 25 K-5 children at once. Through the understanding of the needs and behaviors of different ages, I am able to form respectful relationships with the children and their guardians. I have also gained leadership experience in this position through the opportunity to assist in the training of several new employees.

As a kennel technician, I was responsible for the wellbeing of boarding and hospitalized animals. On top of walking 10-15 dogs twice per shift, I was trusted with the task of administering important medications to the animals as well.
