When I started at Banff Jasper Collection by Pursuit I welcomed employees to our People and Culture office. I assisted new employees with onboarding, entered new employees into our payroll systems (ADP and Kronos) and informed employees of our many perks and benefits. My role evolved, as I became part of the Talent team, I assisted with recruitment planning, attended career fairs and conducted interviews. I also oversaw the new hire onboarding process, and administered health and dental benefits.

Lake Louise, Alberta

Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise was my first exposure to the hospitality industry. Here, I provided consistent and welcoming guest service in line with service standards. I developed and sustained relationships with many departments (F&B, Housekeeping, Maintenance). As the first point of contact during emergencies, I was able to refine my problem resolution and reaction skills. I was once nominated and awarded the Memory Maker award. I completed Train the Trainer training.

Durham Regional Police Services is where I had my first role in HR, where I completed my field placement during the Human Resources course I was completing at Durham College. I was able to assist both the Recruitment and Payroll departments with various tasks. I entered officer overtime information into CARM in order to be processed for payment. I was able to organize confidential candidate packages for the recruitment process, shortlist resumes and create interview questions.
