Lead research, analysis, and writing for key sections of complex reports and briefings to evaluate federal programs and policies, which results in comprehensive reports and briefings to Congress with recommendations to improve deficiencies and solve complex agency-wide problems, which were frequently implemented by federal agencies. For example, I independently analyzed and synthesized quantitative data on the Department of Health and Human Services on dissemination approaches for comparative effectiveness research to develop a complex finding on efforts of HHS to disseminate comparative effectiveness research to targeted audiences. Additionally, when looking at surgical implants for the Veteran’s Health Administration, I analyzed over 40 clinician and expert records to identify patterns among clinician views on surgical implant usage. I have independently developed briefing materials and prepared the Health Care team Director to testify before Congress on surgical implants. I have also developed and conducted interviews with individuals from the Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Veteran Affairs, State Health Options Program, Food and Drug Administration, TRICARE programs and key stakeholders to make various recommendations including, but not limited to, comparative effectiveness research, Native American veterans access to care, surgical implants, federal and state health insurance exchanges, and innovative drugs and antibiotics. I have briefed several Senate and House Committees on our work, including: Armed Services, Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, Education and the Workforce, and Veterans’ Affairs. For my work, I received the highest performance ratings for critical thinking and achieving results. I have received various awards for my work, including two Above and Beyond Awards for exemplary results in producing a report, as well as the Managing Director’s Award for producing two reports and a testimony under tight time frames.

•Conducted literature reviews on philanthropic entrepreneurship and presidential rhetoric. •Developed a complex database of financial data for community foundations and analyzed this information to assess productivity and accountability with the 211 program.

Participated in the highly selective U.S. Government Accountability Office Summer Intern Program as a part of the Natural Resources and the Environment Team. Conducted summary analyses and background research on construction management, led expert interviews, and worked to develop methodology to scope the research of the engagement, a review of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Savannah River Site, regarding the plutonium disposition project.

•Responsible for coordinating press conferences and interviews, developing press releases and speeches for state Senators. •Staffed the Education and Youth Committee and the Insurance and Labor Committee to provide support to senators and assist with any Committee legislative and public relations requests. •Served as the liaison for the general public and the media concerning pending or new legislation for the Senate. •Key contributor in developing the annual legislative session report, that highlights all notable legislative milestones.

•Worked under the Secretary of State Karen Handel and General Counsel to rewrite the human resources policy for the Secretary of State’s office to improve clarity and effectiveness. •Developed a proposal to modernize the Capitol Tours Program and increase the appeal to the general public. •Conducted a review of compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act at polling precincts in the State of Georgia•Provided additional support to the front office assisting in handling constituent requests.

Coordinated regional public relations efforts for special events, fundraisers, public service campaigns and the 2011 MDA Telethon on Labor Day weekend. Responsbile for writing press releases and media alerts, pitching stories and building relationships with local and national news media.
