During my time working as a food server I have honed my skills in the following areas:Effective communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving abilities, ability to work under pressure and handle demanding situations, attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions, efficient time management and multitasking skills, adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment, teamwork and collaboration.

I was a PAL facilitator for the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Sac State for two terms. During the Fall 2022 term, I facilitated for the Engineering Statics course. In the 2023 Spring term, I facilitated for Mechanics of Materials. PAL is a program where facilitators hold guided study sessions for students enrolled in select ECS courses. The students work together in small groups on supplemental worksheets created by the professors for extra practice to strengthen their understanding and build confidence. The facilitators allow the students to utilize their recall strategies and resources before stepping in. The facilitator takes a passive role, leading by asking questions and making observations to point students in the right direction and solidify their understanding of concepts, steps, and processes.

As a member of the Summer 2022 Hornet Leadership Program I was tasked with creating a project that would benefit the Sac State community. This was my first experience with designing a project from the ground up.  As problems arose within our group, I utilized many strategies for conflict resolution. Because my team experienced many difficult situations, I was able to learn a lot about working with others, leading with empathy, and managing the budget, networking, and timelines of a design project.
