I lead recitation sessions for Elementary Probability & Statistics and Probability & Statistics for Scientists & Engineers classes at William & Mary. I guide students through homework problems, aid them in understanding practice tests, and provide them with tips and advice on how to approach quizzes and exams. I am responsible for grading weekly homework assignments for students. Through two hour-long weekly sessions, I see students grow their confidence in mathematics!

As an undergraduate student appointed by the Mathematics Department, I worked as a graduate student mathematics tutor. I helped William & Mary undergraduates with Calculus I and Calculus II courses. I worked with up to 10 students at a time on topics varying from basic derivation, linearization, series notation, etc.

After dedicating over 200 hours as a math and psychology tutor, my knowledge and success led to my promotion as Lead Tutor. I was elected Social Chair, and my primary objective is to foster interconnectivity within the TutorZone. I oversee and plan all social events for our tutors including group dinners, tutor appreciation events, and other social gatherings. After my time as the Social Chair, I took over as the Time Management Chair. I led Time Management Consultants through time management trainings and led time management workshops for William & Mary students. Apart from those administrative tasks, I personally oversee a group of 21 tutors. I help answer any questions they have, facilitate one-on-one meetings to gather consistent feedback, and lead onboarding trainings.

As an academic tutor at William & Mary, I held over 200 hours of tutoring in mathematics and psychology classes. Through the TutorZone, I was put in charge of leading group tutoring sessions for Calculus I and Precalculus undergraduate students. These weekly sessions allowed students to learn with their peers and practice their skills in real-time with feedback from an academic tutor. I encouraged students to try examples on the board with the help of other attendees to learn where their skills were strong and what gaps we could fill!

As a tutor with Grade Potential, I work with a variety of educational levels, ranging from elementary school students to undergraduate students. I primarily help upper-level students in mathematics, and I work on general education topics with elementary students. Working with such a diverse age group and coursework allows me to further grow as an incoming teacher because I am required to adapt my teaching style with every new client.

My responsibilities as interim Assistant Manager and Lead Sales Associate at Leslie's involved typical cashier duties, advanced knowledge on chemical subscription and pool technologies, such as automatic pool cleaners, opening and closing procedures, etc. During my time at Leslie's, I demonstrated excellent communication skills, a friendly and positive attitude toward all customers, and a great attention to detail.

In my specific fellowship with Teach for America, I work with two to four seventh grade students in tutoring their math courses. This is a remote fellowship, so I virtually tutor New York students while attending to my other responsibilities at William and Mary. I work directly with veteran teachers on developing and executing lesson plans, assignments, and assessing the group’s understanding of the material.

While working with LifeNet Health, I created interactive dashboards using Power BI to optimize shipping efficiency. Using my background knowledge in Python, I coded the dashboards to update daily, highlighting where time-sensitive shipments were getting held up and which shippers the organization used most. After presenting this to senior management, the dashboards helped shed light on which shippers the organization should use to ensure shipments arrive on time and in the most cost effective manner.

As a childcare assistant, I attended to the needs of 15 children alongside the lead childcare associate. I helped the children develop a sense of trust, taught them to follow the structure/routine of a school day, and fostered a creative, secure environment to allow each child to express themselves.

My time with this company consisted of clerical duties, but my responsibilities were unmatched by the knowledge I gained from this company. Working at Southland Civil Engineering allowed me to connect with a field of science I never thought I would interact with, and it sparked my interest in the sciences. This internship encouraged me to take advanced placement physics courses in high school which ultimately led to my declaration as a mathematics student.
