I completed my second summer internship with Chemed Corporation as an accounting and legal intern. Working with the accounting department, I gained valuable experienced with wire slips, invoices and transmittals along with strengthening my skills preparing SEC filings such as the 10-Q and 10-K. I also contributed to running a parallel by manually checking every number on the income statement, balance sheet and cash flows for the last 10 years on two versions of a software to ensure the new version was accurate. Additionally, I aided the legal team by reading and cataloging over 400 documents relating to a lawsuit, in addition to having the opportunity to sit in on meetings with both plaintiffs and Chemed’s outside counsel.

I served a dual-role as both an accounting intern, as well as a legal intern at Chemed. Working alongside the accounting department, I gained valuable experience with different SEC forms, such as the 10Q and 10K. I also assisted in renewing, terminating and inserting new leases into Lease Query for both buildings and equipment for the various companies held by Chemed. As a legal intern, it was my responsibility to organize the background facts and documents for cases. I played a key role by creating a detailed chart for Chemed's legal team to use in mediation.
