Senior Capstone Research Project• Collaborated with five-member Capstone Team to research wetland degradation and effects on water quality in Carteret County, NC, for designated partner organization over the course of final undergraduate semester. • Served as Team Leader through the roles of Organizer and Process Facilitator, which requires monitoring of team performance and dynamics, scheduling and managing team meetings, facilitating team meetings with partner organization, mediating team or interpersonal conflicts, and ensuring proportional team member contributions.• Conducted extensive reviews of scientific literature, municipal resources, a wide array of government documents, county ordinances, and federal and state-level legislations.• Facilitated inter-agency cooperation through effective communication with federal, state, and local actors of expertise and authority.• Contributed to comprehensive reports for partner organization pertaining to research of various facets of wetland degradation and water quality indicators.

• Conducted an internal review of mobile screening units and their effectiveness within the Roma population for the project entitled ‘Improving the Health of Roma Women in Greece: A Comprehensive Health promotion and Disease Prevention Program,” including barriers and facilitators to breast / cervical cancer screening and HPV vaccinations and resources used to improve health literacy.• Assisted with the piloting of the RIVER-EU (Reducing Inequalities in Vaccine uptake in the European Region – Engaging Underserved communities) project, where I conducted preliminary research regarding reflective monitoring mechanisms that could ensure effective implementation and collaboration from stakeholders.• Gained familiarity with public health challenges afflicting both Greece and Europe more broadly, particularly within marginalized populations.

• Conducted rigorous research pertaining to the use of psychopharmaceuticals within the U.S. military, including literature reviews, compilations of newspaper articles, examinations of US Department of Defense and military reports, and exploring blogs and social media forums.• Organized and maintained an extensive resource of all analyzed documents, articles, reports, etc. and collected data, which would eventually become publicized for other researchers to access.• Co-organized a two-day military-related workshop entitled “Engaging Military Communities Within and Beyond the Academy: Possibilities and Challenges” (Dec. 2022) alongside Dr. Jocelyn Chua and Dr. Hilary Lithgow.• Assisted in the selection of leading practitioners, researchers, students, and advocates from diverse backgrounds to create a space to reflect together on the opportunities and challenges to working with military-affiliated or veteran communities, particularly from specific disciplinary, institutional, and personal locations.• Co-presented research with Dr. Jocelyn Chua regarding the use of psychiatric medications by U.S. military personnel during overseas deployments in post-9/11 conflicts and their lived experiences / consequences.

• Assisted with the research of antibiotic-resistant E. coli present in samples of rural North Carolina groundwater and private wells, as well as other contaminants. Responsibilities include but are not limited to sample filtration, data entry and interpretation, and literary research. Development of advanced research techniques and strategies.

Assisted multiple Biology professors and grad students with research of the cytomegalovirus and its expression within C. elegans. Responsibilities included but were not limited to ligation of DNA, growth of bacteria, cell plate creation, creation of fluorescent DNA strands, insertion of DNA, and documentation of data.
