Working on Establishing Yarrowia lipolytica as a model for studying mitochondrial dysfunction- Identified the potential mutations to begin with referring to literature, structural study and clinical database- Streamlined the protocol for introducting point mutation in nuclear coded mitochondrial gene using Linear/CRISPR- Quantifying the effects of desired mutations using growth assay and various biochemical assays like Oxygen Consuption Assay, Mitochondrial Membrane Potential using FlowCytometry, Western Blotting and Complex I activity Assay- Leading the project on In silico modeling of some disease mutations which are not so far possible to integrate in vivo- Contributed to a chapter based on Synthetic Biology in the book 'Fundamental of Industrial Biotechnology' - yet to be published
