Organized the weeklong recognition of Juneteenth by working on lectures and events that emulate the theme “Educate, Celebrate, and Heal.” Events include the inaugural Nova Star Scholarship Pageant which awarded over $5,000 to underrepresented students and raised above $100,000 for underrepresented minority doctoral students to study abroad, and the Freedom Day Celebration which brings out over 1,000 community members access to free health screenings and the opportunity to support Black-owned businesses.

Enlisted appropriate qualified support to create programming around space for intergroup/safe space dialogues, healing of racial trauma events, and/or programming toward creating a healthier campus community.● Performed as a liaison between FIU faculty, staff, and students to create a more inclusive university experience.

● Trained and led over 20 committee members to effectively curate events designed to enrich the campus life of FIU students including lectures, seminars, and workshops.● Established Liberation Library, the annual, university-wide book drive designed to donate books to local juvenile detention centers.● Developed and maintained a relationship between university psychological services to address the mental health needs of students of color, leading to an increase in students of color obtaining mental health services.● Performed budget management tasks including allocating funds for guest speakers and event materials.

Aided in the creation and execution of the inaugural Gun Violence Intervention Summit which aids in connecting gun violence survivors, hospitals, social workers, and community partners to generate a cohesive approach to recovery after victimization.● Outreach with community grassroots organizations including but not limited to Circle of Brotherhood and the Healing Justice Center to provide holistic support to at-risk youth in Miami Dade.

● Worked closely with FIU Alumni Association and Board of Directors to enhance the university experience and represent the university through professionalism, scholarship, and philanthropy.● Successfully trained 25 new members on the history and values of the organization.● Assisted President in planning general body meetings and events for over 40 members.● Coordinated training, professional development, and networking opportunities for new members.

● Worked as a staff member of Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal in its efforts to deliver the President's agenda in areas including but not limited to advancing immigrants’ rights, lowering healthcare costs, and equality within the justice system.● Drafted and edited press clips and briefings relating to the Congressional Progressive Caucus.● Worked independently on designated tasks and special projects regarding federal policies.

● Formed year long partnerships with five community organizations to educate students on topics such as food insecurity and gentrification including Overtown’s Lotus House Women’s shelter, and Feeding South Florida. ● Worked closely with board members to facilitate community service projects on a weekly basis.● Researched data on United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the progress made to achieve these goals in South Florida.
