A graduate in Science, Master in Sociology and a Bachelor of Law Ashok Kumar has studied Radio/TV Production- Direction from London. While in the U, K, he worked for the External Services, BBC, London. Upon return to India he worked as a Producer in the Television and Radio Stations, Delhi from where he was invited to teach at the Film & TV Institute of India, Pune. In 1984 Ashok Kumar started his proprietorship company INCOMM where he still Writes/Produces and Directs advertising films, corporate films, training films, industrial films and other films in that genre. He has produced/directed almost 50 ad films and documentaries under INCOMM. His latest film “Maharani Lakshmi Bai” is a well-researched dramatized documentary of 55 minutes in 35mm film format. Ashok Kumar specialises in live multi camera shoots of Events and Shows and their scripting of Anchor and event flow Copy.Ashok Kumar has done a lot of transcription, voicing and dubbing for Zee-TV. He has done extensive work in the domain of voicing/dubbing albeit for his own productions. The trade magazines and professionals- equally- have praised his use of simple language and quality of his accent and diction. Ashok Kumar has headed TV Channels like the Home TV (In-charge Bombay-Programming/Production and Operations) and ATN (Senior VP Programming and Production). He has, twice, been on the Selection Committees of the Mumbai International Film Festival for shorts and Animation films (MIFF).Ashok Kumar is a published literary writer/poet in Hindi, Urdu and English languages with Two short story collections and Two novels to his credit. He has been a Media Columnist in the Times of India, Jansatta and in the professional magazine USP-Age. His text book '"Sociology of Cinema" is under publication and is due anytime. Ashok Kumar teaches at MICA,SNDT University, Bundeklkhand University and at the FTII.
