Ashish Chandra Sen is an independent media consultant, community radio educator and advocate. He is on the Board of AMARC Asia Pacific and a member of AMARC International’s Governance Committee. He is also Community Media Consultant and Evaluator of Commonwealth Education Media Centre for Asia’s (CEMCA) Three Year Plan (2012-2015). He is AMARC’s Expert Consultant on UNESCO’s IPDC Programme to develop Community Radio in Bhutan, and a core member of the International Commission on Survivor-Centered Disaster Recovery. He is also Editor of Community Radio News, a newsletter managed by the UNESCO Chair on Community Media; Course Director, Community Communications, Convergence Institute of Media Management and Information Technology; and Visiting Faculty at Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication, Symbiosis International University.Sen has been actively engaged with theatre for social change since the 1980s in Kolkata, Mumbai and Bangalore. He has acted in and directed more than sixty productions and has extensively used theatre as a training vehicle for the corporate, academic and social sectors. Sen is currently theatre and media consultant with Interweave Consulting Private Limited and Innnobridge Consulting Private Limited and has facilitated workshops for corporates including Wipro, Sapient, Tata Consultancy Services, Ranstad, Liquid Hub, Kelly Services, Hinduja Global Solutions,and Avery Denzien. Clients/Partners in the social and academic sectors include Parikrma Foundation, Mithra Jyothi, Samarthanam, APD, Convergence Media Institute Bangalore, Symbiosis Pune, Mount Carmel and Jyothi Nivas Colleges Bangalore.Sen started his career as a journalist in Kolkata with the Business Standard, where he subsequently became Assistant Editor. Since the late eighties he has been professionally engaged at senior management levels with frontline development organizations in India and outside like ActionAid, VOICES, and AMARC.
