I became President/CEO of ICAN in 2013 after previously serving as a volunteer and board member for 10 years. ICAN champions independence and opportunity by placing service dogs with people with disabilities. As the only accredited service dog program in Indiana, we also deliver foundational life and job skills to inmates through dog training roles.

I operated a 1.8M granite and marble fabrication shop building trusted relationships with customers, suppliers, vendors as well as legal, accounting, banking and insurance representatives to increase profitability 4.4% in less than 14 months and to better serve clients and employees.

I directed the delivery of over 80+ networking/educational events to approximately 5,700 attendees annually. I built multi-level sponsorship and marketing campaigns for customers using the assets of these events. I directed sponsorship sales, contract negotiation, resource management, event budgeting ($1.1M budget), marketing and collaboration with various stake holders to ensure successful project fruition. I also facilitated strategic partnerships, and coached events and programming staff.

Raised over $1.4 M in cash and in-kind sponsorships, increasing revenue over 5% from 2007 to 2008.

Planned and orchestrated aspects of the post-race (Indianapolis Mini Marathon) party.

Raised over $710,000 for inaugural capital campaign, $120,000 for nursing education endowment, and $50,000 in underwriting in 11 months. Cultivated all facets of hospital volunteer program for four campus hospital including procurement, recruitment, placement, recognition and retention of over 200 volunteers achieving a 14% growth in 12 months.

Served as board member and Chairman during the foundational years of the organization. Worked closely with founder to develop fiscal security, policies and proceedures, as well as recruit key volunteers to advocate for the organization.

Managing the kids area for the after race gathering. Organized activities and volunteers to provide an enjoyable experience for families.

Coordinated inaugural Go Red for Women (Woman’s Legacy Luncheon) in less than 6 months and raised 70K (net) in addition to securing $710,000 for American Heart Association events in 2 years.Successfully administered the cultivation, management and support of volunteers.

Delivered services to 130,000 member association with affiliates throughout United States and Canada. Orchestrated all aspects of traveling consultant program including the recruiting, hiring, training, supervising and reporting for 26 off-site employees; as well as managing the $135,000 budget, and drafting of educational grants proposals. Planned, drafted and conducted leadership training for staff and for regional and national leadership conferences. Was one of five internationally selected women to travel to universities throughout United States and Canada, assisting collegiate women and alumnae in areas of leadership, membership retention, recruitment and officer training.
