I am an Innovation Manager at UM ventures, University of Maryland at College Park working on innovations from cradle to grave. In this role, I leverage my interdisciplinary background to oversee disclosures from both physical and life sciences portfolio. Prior to this, I was a Postdoctoral Scholar in Technology Transfer at Texas State University, where I probed the interface of Science, Engineering, Technology & Arts and the value of convergent research, innovation and education while also focusing on technology transfer associated with such innovation. I have a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University, where I developed a novel COVID-19 diagnostic sensor and published my findings in prestigious journals. Prior to this experience, I have also conducted research on clean energy technologies and electrochemical microbial sensorsI was also an Entrepreneurial Lead and Grant Consultant, with experience in leading and supporting technology transfer and commercialization projects. I have participated in the NSF I-Corps program, where I learned how to validate customer needs, market potential, and value proposition for my inventions. I have filed two patents and secured multiple grants for my research and innovation endeavors.My mission is to contribute to a greener and healthier world by applying my expertise in electrochemical engineering, patent development, and entrepreneurial leadership. I am passionate about identifying and solving challenging problems, creating social impact, and collaborating with diverse and talented teams.
