I go by the pronouns he/she and I identify myself as a non-binary queer person.I am from a small town and I slowly started my journey towards the cities and mega-cities, first to Kolkata where I pursued Sociology as a major subject at Jadavpur University. Post that I completed my Teach For India Fellowship from Pune, which was the turning point of my life and I envisioned a clearer picture of the route I would like to take for my future prospects. Earlier I was working in the position of , Gender Expert, in Transform Schools, People For Action, where I was leading the PARity programme in different Government Girl’s Schools, in Kolkata where the basic focus is to unpack classroom transactions to bring girls' awareness to their self-perception, self-efficacy, rational identity and decision making. Currently I have shifted to a different position. I am working as a Programme Officer for the STEM:CODE project which aims towards bridging the gender gap in STEM education, uptake and digital skills for adolescent girls to further learn, build science capital and widen their career prospects. I also had an oppurtunity to work with Bharat Ed Teach Initiative as a state lead in West Bengal. Our main goal was to roll out an ed-tech product where we tested effective behavioural nudges to improve uptake and engagement of students with contents in Science, Mathematics & English for classes 9 & 10. Other than work and academics I have represented my state at the national level in women's Badminton. I believe in inclusiveness and grit towards what I work for. Self-sufficiency and self-independence go hand in hand for me. I do believe in my strengths as much as I do accept my areas of development. I am open to learning, feedback and new experiences.I am also into writing, art, photography and fashion, which doesn’t count as my professional forte but they fall under the category of what I love.And I live my life with a constant ideology, “The society is black and white, we try to make it our own rainbow. But so as to make that black and white into a seven different colorful experience we need to work towards our passion and what makes us happy, along with retaining our own personal identities.”I am constantly looking for that passion and zeal in every work and experience that I come across.
