"Sight impacts everything, every day, everywhere." - Aspasia ShappetECN Purpose is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in July 2020. The charity's mission is to make access to vision care possible for the underserved population in the United States through advocacy, education, outreach and connection. The charity's programs are intended to help close the gap in eye health knowledge and create access to vision care among individuals who are unemployed, uninsured, elderly, immobile, in foster programs and youth sanctuaries, etc. We want to meet people where they are through our mobile program. The initial donation from The Eye Care Network, Inc. makes possible our long term goal to be sustainable for many years. By investing this seed money to fund our administration and overhead, the majority of donation and grant dollars go straight to our programs and directly to helping people.Aspasia has the pleasure of working with dedicated individuals, who share the same passion to help others and make a difference in people's lives. As previous President and Chief Executive Officer of Medical Eye Services, Inc. (MESVision) for over 25 years, her passion for the company vision, values and mission established MESVision as one of the top vision care providers in California and the nation. Aspasia’s strong financial and operational background became useful in supervising all major departments within the corporation, along with the nationwide expansion of MESVision during her tenure as CEO. Aspasia has served as the Chairperson for other nonprofit organizations including the National Association of Vision Plans (NAVCP) Board of Directors which is the trade association for the Managed Vision Care industry. The NAVCP strives to improve quality and efficiency in the delivery of vision care, and promotes the value and importance of vision care and vision benefits to both consumers and employers.Aspasia has been recognized and selected as one of 85 Outstanding Women Executives in Healthcare in the United States, was sponsored by IBM to visit the White House to attend a meeting for Women Executives in Healthcare, and selected as one of Optical's Most Influential Women.
