Aspen Bartlett is a Senior Associate Scientist at Just - Evotec Biologics. Colleagues describe them as "Aspen Paw U (formally Clarissa) is an exceptional research scientist, who can transition between working on open ended research projects to generating thousands of samples under controlled conditions for analytical validation studies. One example, Aspen worked with their manager to quickly develop methods to expand a single CD4 or CD8 T-cell into monoclonal populations of > 200 K cells. These monoclonal cell populations were needed for a project to analytically validate an assay – and after developing the method Aspen needed to build the populations for the AV study. Now here is the impressive part – Aspen expanded 1000 different T cells, from single cell to 200 K – 500 K monoclonal T cells. The work was part meticulous tracking of each split and part art to keep that many different cells happy. The even more impressive part – Aspen only needed to do this for 250 T cells – but because they are so talented (so many of the initial single cell “starts” grew well) they were able to over deliver and generate > 1000 monoclonal cell lines. This massively improved the AV study – and demonstrates Aspen’s talent for executing complicated and sensitive experiments. Aspen's skills are highly transferable to many roles - I recommend Aspen."
