About Astrid Ho

Active arts manager with extensive experience in arts and culture programming, arts administration, and collaborative leadership in the arts. 15+ years experience in non-profit fine arts organization, cultivating and managing client relationships, and developing and organizing exhibitions and programs that expand contemporary art perspectives and projects with Canadian and international focus. As the Print Sales and Archive Manager at Open Studio (2003-18), Astrid promoted and sold artwork by over 150 artists, and oversaw the storage and care of over 7000 original fine art prints in the print archives. She organized 100+ solo and group exhibitions in the Print Sales Gallery, and 20+ in-gallery and off-site projects/programs including Open Studio’s participation at Art Toronto, Interior Design Show, and the Toronto Pearson International Airport. Her exhibitions focus on contemporary concepts in print-based art, and cultural identities.She worked extensively with individuals, curators and key buyers including the Bank of Montreal, Global Affairs, the Law Society of Ontario, the National Bank of Canada, and TD Bank. In 2014 she was selected as one of six mentees for the Leadership and Cultural Pluralism Project, Ontario Association of Art Galleries, mentored at Harbourfront Centre; co-curated Past Stories, Present Sense with Suzanne Morrissette; organized Artists Talks. Programs she has developed and managed connect the public to artists. She has taught at Burlington Fine Arts Association, ArtCity, Centre 3, Havergal College, Latcham Gallery, McMichael and Open Studio; received a project grant from the Ontario Arts Council, Career and Professional Development Program, 2009. She is a member of Open Studio and CPAMO.As a visual artist, her artistic practice and achievements include exhibiting both nationally and internationally since 1997; BFA from OCAD University with Honours; studied under the OCAD Study-Abroad Program in Florence, Italy.
