But Agi got me through one of the toughest projects I’ve ever worked on - launching kifli.hu in Budapest. There’s no way I’d have made it without her. I landed in Budapest in summer 2019 with an instruction to get Kifli off the ground by Christmas. Agi was the first person I recruited, and arguably one of the best. I sold her an easy job “It won’t be that much work, all the heavy lifting will come from the HQ in Prague”, but this swiftly turned out to be a falsehood. And within a couple of months the role had developed into a fully fledged bells and whistles Head of HR role which she threw herself into. Working at Kifli isn’t for everyone, it’s highly pressurised and the speed of change is relentless. By the time of launch (we scraped in the week before Christmas), she had overseen the recruitment of 75 Head Office roles, as well as a whole profusion of agency workers who manned the warehouse and fleet. All those individuals came with HR needs, and Agi was able to build a terrific team around her to support a thriving HR department. She then had to help navigate the business through a pandemic at a time of unprecedented demand, when the workforce needed to expand exponentially again. It’s not easy to find good talent in today’s world, and people like Agi don’t come around very often, so don’t let them slip through your fingers. "
