Key highlights Project accomplishment: Worked as a Team leader for WFP’s new office project in Cox’s Bazar Bangladesh which had a prefabricated steel structure covering a 5200 sqm area with a budget of $1.5 million. I led the project from scratch and delivered the project within the time, cost, and quality.  Within the period of 2018-2020, I have delivered projects with 15km of HBB road construction, 24.5 km of drainage construction, 66 numbers of bamboo bridges, 4 temporary dams, slope protection for 87,329 sqm area, rehabilitation of 80 cyclone shelters, and maintenance of 22 general food distribution centres. I was the key technical person who had designed, planned, and implemented those projects successfully with 11 partners (INGO, NGO). Job Descriptions:• Provided comprehensive technical support to WFP’s construction projects, including preparing an outline of project cost, time, quality, and risk estimates.• Contributed to the WFP’s strategic plan, and administration processes, facilitating effective and efficient administration services for the facility management, preparing detailed tender packages for contractors to implement the projects, and managing the technical aspects of procurement actions undertaken through all stages including evaluation and award following FIDIC suite of Contracts. • Developed project implementation plans in compliance with occupational health & and safety following the OHSAS guidance and prepared a quality assurance plan following the national and international codes (BNBC, AASHTO, ASTM, ISO) that takes into account local constraints and monitors the project’s construction activities on a regular basis. Ensure that all contractual controls (bonds, guarantees, securities, and insurances) are in place on contracts and agreements, as well as certify interim and final payments to service providers. Maintained good collaboration with WFP’s stakeholders, other UN agencies as well as government offices.

Bangladesh

Obayashi Corporation, Shimizu Corporation, JFE Engineering Corporation, and IHI Infrastructure System Co., Ltd., four prominent Japanese construction companies, formed a joint venture (OSJI-JV) for the construction of three major bridges in Bangladesh: Kanchpur-400 meters, Meghna-930 meters, and Gumti(1430 meters). The project was funded by JICA which was awarded the Best Technology Award of JSCE-2020 (Japan Society of Civil Engineers).Job Descriptions:• Scheduled and managed project activities and kept track of it. Verified and checked invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure that all project expenses are documented and correctly reported.• Prepared RFQ and reviewed Tenders (contractors and subcontractors’ bids) for the creation of goods and service agreements on a technical and commercial level. Rates were analyzed and a price was negotiated with subcontractors.• Tabled to section manager for monthly material statement and total expenditure report. All expenditures were tracked by cost code, and the master budget was monitored closely. Purchase order/Work order and purchase inspection were prepared, and the progress of all purchases, invoicing, and delivery was tracked until the project components were completed.• Assessed all incoming purchase requisitions for goods and services to assure the lowest pricing and kept up to date on market trends that might affect resource prices. committed to maximizing efficiency without sacrificing quality at any levels laid out detailed cost-cutting plans with timelines and goals.• To facilitate the delivery/completion of the project work, I coordinated and worked with the project management team to resolve project procurement challenges and participated in PMT and external client project discussions and meetings. On a monthly basis, performed project costing-related reporting to the manager for their evaluation to determine that expenditures were maintained within the project budget.

Projects that I was directly involved in:• Construction of 64km Double Line Railway Projects from Tangi to Bhairab (April-2011 to March-2014): The primary contractor was China Railway Engineering Corporation (CREC), and the nominated subcontractor was TCCL with a scope of work that included 22 railway bridges, 35 culverts, 64 kilometers of railway embankment including soil improvement with Polyvinyl Drain (PVD), and track linking. My job title was site engineer, and I was responsible for daily site supervision and directing construction workers to ensure that the construction operations were set out following authorized construction drawings and specifications. I was actively involved in the different documentation works like prepare workshop drawings, schedule of quantities, keeping records of constructions materials and workforce, prepared weekly work schedules,s and assisting to prepare interim payment certificates.• Construction of 341m long Prestressed Concrete girder bridge at Austagram with 2 KM rigid pavement approach road, Kishoreganj & Construction of 560m long PSC girder bridge at Islampur, Jamalpur (April 2014 to August 2015): I was promoted from site engineer to structural engineer and managed those two projects contributing to managing overall planning and QA/QC. • Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant Project (September 2015 to November 2015): I worked as a deputy project manager there and managed the project from start to finish. Daily coordination was maintained, and daily meetings with Russian delegations were attended. The duration of the project was short but managed perfectly with profit and quality.• Construction of 6KM of 4 Lane connecting road project in Rampal coal-based power plant ( December 2015 to March 2016): I started the project as Deputy Project Manager, however, I had to leave the company to expand my professional career to a greater level, thus the adventure didn’t last long.
