About Atul Kumar
An Architecture and Construction professional with expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM). His previous employments gave him opportunities to develop and expand his BIM knowledge. He has a deep understanding of BIM processes and experience in working in a BIM environment. He has worked on all stages of projects, design, construction, and project handover documentation. He has led the multidisciplinary coordination of large-scale projects in collaboration with other disciplines.He has been involved in multiple aspects of BIM development within the organizations (Technical, Managerial, Commercial, and Business Development). Apart from working on BIM projects, he has assisted his previous organizations in training the team members, setting up BIM standards, pricing the BIM jobs, preparing bids for BIM projects, client presentations, and develop a business development strategy to offer BIM services to existing and potential future clients. He has been involved in assessing clients BIM RFPs and preparing technical and commercial proposals (Costing of BIM Works) for BIM projects. He also has the necessary conceptual knowledge and software skills to deliver 4D, 5D, and 6D BIM. He has a keen interest in BIM R&D and continuously looks for efficient ways to use BIM and the improvements BIM can bring in the traditional processes and products within the AEC sector. He completed his ‘M.Sc. Construction Project Management with BIM’ with Distinction at Northumbria University. This course was focused on managing construction projects throughout design, construction, and operations as well as managing people and teams. He did his dissertation on “Adoption of DfMA within M&E sub-sector with the integration of BIM”.
