Developed and improved internal procedures and systems for company, including new deliverable and cost estimate templates, health and safety communications and practices, SOPs for field activities, and internal training programs. Undergraduate capstone project consisted of monitoring marine water quality parameters and surveying populations of plankton in Quartermaster Harbor, located off of Vashon Island, Washington. Duties included monthly field sampling aboard a vessel, performing laboratory analyses of water samples, identifying and counting multiple species of plankton under microscope, analyzing data, and presenting findings. Data was collected and analyzed to determine correlations between marine environment and population of Alexandrium catenella, a dinoflagellate responsible for causing paralytic shellfish poisoning.
