Determined to be part of the book publishing industry, Audrey entered the Western Colorado University MA Publishing program under the direction of Kevin J. Anderson. All aspects of traditional and indie publishing were covered. Audrey worked as a student editor on a fantasy anthology and a reissued public domain book and interned for WordFire Press. She graduated in July 2024 and is eager to be part of the children's book publishing industry.Inspired to write for young audiences, Audrey completed an MFA in Children’s Literature and two screenwriting mentorships with a professional script consultant. One of her teen TV pilots was a semifinalist in the 2020 Creative Screenwriting Unique Voices Screenplay Competition and placed as quarterfinalist in the 2021 PAGE International Screenwriting Awards Competition, 2021 ScreenCraft Sci-Fi & Fantasy Screenwriting Competition, and 2021 Creative Screenwriting Animation Screenplay Competition. Two of Audrey’s tween TV pilots have been endorsed by the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival. Her animated feature, WILD GOOSE CHASE, was a semifinalist in the 2024 Emerging Writers Animation Screenplay Competition.In addition to screenwriting, Audrey writes fun fantasy books for young readers. She is currently querying her picture books, chapter books, and middle grade novel. Audrey’s middle grade fantasy was a Second Rounder in the 2022 LaunchPad Prose Competition. As a natural storyteller Audrey desires to write about family, magic, and adventure that inspires and entertains children of all ages. She is a passionate advocate for Kids Need to Read and We Need Diverse Books. Audrey also reads and provides notes on other writer’s screenplays and manuscripts with the intention of supporting their dreams. Substitute teacher by day, house cat minion and hoarder of plants by night.
