Researching rule encoding in the prefrontal cortex, reactive and proactive control, rule representation, and emotion regulation. Individually running fMRI scans and using Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation on 30+ participants, setting up neuroimaging & peripheral-physiological recordings, and programming scripts in Python and R for data processing & analysis (including setting up GLM, coding representational similarity matrices, and analyzing background connectivity patterns). Abstract selected for UCLA's Psychology Undergraduate Research Conference.

Develop public health curriculum and interactive lesson plans for a 3 unit course, PH 197. Teach and lead weekly discussion sections to students covering various topics in public health including social determinants of health, mental health, physician burnout, end of life care, and cultural humility. Plan and execute a preceptor panel event with healthcare professionals. Grade and evaluate intern assignments. Review applications and conduct interviews to recruit new interns and TA's for the FSI program.

Working in interdisciplinary teams and applying human-centered design principles to the development of technological solutions for today's public health challenges, including domestic violence in youth and social isolation among college students and elderly individuals. Projects have included conducting user interviews and literature reviews, prototyping solutions, and pitching ideas at showcases with stakeholders. Partnerships and collaborations include Blue Shield of California, Hopelab, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Berkeley, and the Health Worker Program at UC Berkeley.

Researched DSM-5, NIH databases, and conducted literature reviews to further understand symptoms and comorbidities in psychiatric patients with brain-based disorders including autism, ADHD, depression, and anxiety. Collaborated with the Chief Medical Officer, Head User Researcher, and clinicians at Texas Children’s Hospital to help improve usability, efficacy, and content for Trayt’s patient app/portal aimed at improving diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes in patients. Conducted user experience interviews (usability tests, card sorting, etc.) with pediatric patients and parents, applying human-centered design principles through ideating, prototyping, and reiterating on app/portal wireframes, mock-ups, and designs.
