Currently, I am a HealthySteps Specialist with Children's Home Society of NC. I work in a pediatric setting to provide parent education, information on child development, case management, and community referrals and resources to families with children 0-3 years of age.Prior, I was the Victim Services Coordinator with Family Service of the Piedmont (FSP) in Greensboro. I worked as a partner out of the Guilford County Family Justice Center, supervising a team of advocates that assisted victims of domestic violence and sexual assault seek and obtain the necessary services to keep them and their families safe. Through this position, I was also a Loaned Executive to the United Way of Greater Greensboro representing FSP, a strategic partner of United Way, as a Campaign Associate during their campaign season August 2019-November 2019.I had the opportunity to be a Program Coordinator with Reading Connections, a local Greensboro non-profit. This position gave me the chance to diversify my skills through project/program management, grant management, volunteer coordination, and many others. I have also been a Foster Care Social Worker for Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services, and before that, I was a Family Assessment/Investigative Social Worker for Guilford County. I graduated in 2014 from North Carolina State University with my Masters in Social Work. I obtained my Bachelor's of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies: Early Care and Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2010. I also minored in Psychology and Spanish. My career and experience for the last 13+ years has consistently related to human and/or public services. I consider myself a talented multi-tasker with the ability to fulfill diverse roles, and I function well in a team-based environment but am capable of working individually with minimal supervision. I believe I have strong leadership skills, I am passionate, and I value and respond well to constructive criticism. I have also been described as creative, charismatic, and optimistic by colleagues. The majority of my experiences have been with marginalized, multi-cultural populations- particularly children and families.
