Develop relationships with individuals, high profile community leaders, local and national companies, etc. through joint collaboration to garner the support and awareness needed to fund lifesaving cystic fibrosis research. I work specifically on the Great Strides walk events in Cary, Wilmington and Sanford. Great Strides is our organization largest and most successful national event. I also manage the CF Climb for Life in Raleigh and the Pipeline to a Cure Gala in Wilmington (which celebrates the connection between CF and surfing).My responsibilities encompass the planning, development and implementation of all aspects of events, seeking significant revenue building opportunities, with guidance from supervisor. Accountable for growth and budget achievement of assigned events. Exceeded financial goals by 55% in 2012. Responsible for a budget line of $350,000 in 2013. Identify, recruit, cultivate, and nurture corporate sponsors, committee members, event chairs, volunteers and other customers. Negotiate with venues, vendors and other contracts to increase the bottom line. Carry out all accounting and financial responsibilities in compliance with audit procedures. Seek underwriting, in-kind donations and auction items. Recruit new volunteer leadership and continue building upon existing volunteer base. Responsible for all social media channels to include Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, Chapter website content, creating event materials to include, brochures, save the dates, programs, sponsorship proposals and create successful media campaigns across various mediums to include: TV, radio, outdoor, digital and print.

Fundraising/Development: Work with Director of Fundraising and Community Relations on the annual Walk to Defeat ALS™ and other special events throughout the region we serve. Including but not limited to the following: Cradle to Grave’ planning of fundraising efforts for the Frederick and Baltimore Walks including pre and post walk events such as kick-offs and award ceremonies. Maintained a 95% retention rate of participants. Increased participation by more than 30%. Exceeded financial goals by over $35,000. Assist development team in raising $1.6 million for the Walk to Defeat ALS™ through sponsorship recruitment, writing grants and proposals, seeking underwriters to maintain a low expense ratio, recruiting event chairs and committees, assist in recruiting and stewarding returning and new donors, conduct online research to identify funding sources, I have a proven track record of effectively training and stewarding over 1,000 participants and donors to exceed Chapter goals. Consistently demonstrates the ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, which includes reprioritizing work as necessary.Assist with media and marketing efforts by creating Public Service Announcements/Press Releases, and through developing relationships with members of the local media. Compose and edit web content for chapter website, sponsorship materials, donor/participant communications. Organize the Chapters Media Kit. Serve as the point of contact for the Chapter newsletter. Includes but is not limited to: timeline, layout and communication with the staff and printing vendor. Improve visibility of the Chapter through key internet networking sites to promote the Walk, third party events, volunteer opportunities and donations.
