Brewer of delicious beers, farmer of various yeasts, and enemy of dissolved oxygen

Head brewer at a white-label cold brew coffee and tea operation. In this role I developed recipes for clients requesting auxiliary production, many in the specialty coffee industry across the country. I innovated new ways to use traditional beer brewing equipment to mass produce coffee and tea. I processed orders from various clients, set schedules, and ran a team of four assistant brewers.

Located several modified instream structures in San Vicente Creek using a handheld GPS unit Conducted topographic surveys using a total station to capture new bathymetry of creek channel after implementation of large woody debris to analyze habitat improvements for native steelhead trout and coho salmon populations.

Established the Science Internship Program (SIP) for the Science and Environmental Policy (SEP) Division at CSU Monterey Bay. My main objective as internship coordinator has been to coordinate, advertise, and promote internships between students and community partners to increase student participation and retention within the SEP division. Through these efforts I hope to foster an academic climate of learning-by-doing among our undergraduate and graduate students.

Hired as seasonal field technician to removed endangered steelhead trout from isolated pools in the receding Carmel River via weir trapment and e-fisher surveys as a rescue initiative. This involved analyzing conditions of the river to plan for effective steelhead rescues.
