August Stephens (he/they/ze) is a Honors Digital Journalism student with a Photography minor in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is the Opinions Editor for The Globe, Point Park University’s student-run, independent newspaper, and the General Manager of the university’s radio-station, WPPJ 670. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Stephens represents the Gender Sexuality Spectrum Alliance as President and Programs Director; and has as Vice President, and Secretary over the course of the past three years. August is also passionate about neurodivergent-inclusive practices and queer studies. He has received Sexual Violence Intervention Training twice through Pittsburgh Action Against Rape. August Stephens is well-organized, diligent, and adaptable in all areas of life. As a result, he also has served as a student representative for Spiritual Life and member of PPU Writers Club on-campus. In his spare time Stephens enjoys yoga, writing poetry, and finding the next artist to listen to. August aims to continue his student work and progress his career by pursuing a graduate degree in Library and Information Science. His goals in this career field include educating the general public, advocating for the right to free knowledge, and creating an affirming atmosphere for all individuals.
