I am an Applied Epidemiologist with a substantial background in public health, infectious disease surveillance, and disaster surveillance. Currently, I hold the position of Maternal, Children, and Health Applied Epidemiologist at the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS). My specialization revolves around conducting surveillance, investigations, and analyses of infectious diseases, including managing high-profile outbreaks such as COVID-19. In my role, I collaborate closely with local, state, and federal agencies to provide data-driven insights that inform effective public health interventions and policies.I hold a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology from the Colorado School of Public Health, where my research focused on malaria prevention and control. Additionally, I have obtained a Disaster Preparedness certificate from Colorado State University. My academic journey also includes a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Microbiology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I am currently in pursuit of a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Epidemiology at Walden University, with a specific emphasis on Maternal Mortality and mental health.My previous professional experiences encompass managing data for a malaria trial during my tenure as a Student Research Assistant at the Colorado School of Public Health. I have also contributed to supporting COVID-19 response efforts at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
